The inaugural Lahore Biennale recognized the city in relation to its region. This was consciously mirrored in the design, branding, presentation and collateral programming of artists and their projects in the biennale. Over 60 artists participated in the biennale, including artists based in Bangladesh, India, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, as well as from Europe and the United States.
