From Lahore is a unique artist-led initiative that aims to bring forward the lived visual spirit of South Asia. It is the first such initiative that seeks to re-connect with the forgotten crafts and artistries of the region and identify the ways in which design solutions have evolved and infiltrated into our lives today. Using the city as our visual mood-board, it aims to map the typographical displays and multi-lingual design tropes that create the fabric of contemporary design in Pakistan.

Seeking to find the answer to what is our visual identity today amidst the historical and cultural influences over the past 200 years, From Lahore aims to engage artists, designers, visual thinkers from all classes, regions and backgrounds and share their knowledge about design and visual vocabulary. It aims to provide a common platform and pedagogical infrastructure to connect young and aspiring artists, established designers as well as the local self-taught Ustaads who are an institution within themselves.
